Backwater valves

Backflow protection - how it works

When water builds up until the pipe is approximately full, pressure is exerted on the membrane of the backflow preventer, which then opens upwards. When the flow stops, the sealing lip closes again and closes the valve. In the event of a backflow, the rubber membrane is filled and pressed against the pipe wall. This function prevents gas movement and thus helps to prevent sewer gases from escaping into the cellar.

Applications of the Stop Silent® SL13 backflow preventer

The Stop SilentSL13® backflow preventer was specially developed for wastewater house connections containing faeces. It can be installed in just a few seconds, even in oval pipes, and offers reliable backflow protection and a long service life.

Applications of the Stop Silent® SL13 backflow preventer

Basement Flooding?
During heavy rain, the sewer system fills up and backwater occurs. Without backflow protection, too much water can flow back to the cellar in a short time via the relatively large wastewater pipes and escape via a toilet bowl, for example. Backwater calculator

Do you need a frog flap or amphibian flap?
The open outlet of a pipe into the natural environment allows insects, amphibians and reptiles to enter. The backflow protection with frog flap function of Stop Silent® SL13 prevents such animals from entering.

What to do if it stinks from the drain?
The smell of duct gases is unpleasant and unnecessary. Air or gases in pipes start to move at low temperature differences, creating the so-called stack effect. The installation of a Stop Silent® SL13 backflow preventer prevents the movement of sewer gases and the smell is eliminated. Problem solved!

Drainage of traffic areas Seepage pipes & drainage pipes Protect
Effective drainage of railroad systems or roads is necessary for safety reasons.
At this point, the Stop Silent® SL13 backflow flap ensures that no water flows back into the drainage system in the event of heavy rain or flooding, softening the subsoil and jeopardizing its stability.
