Installation
Stop Silent® SL13 can be installed both at the inlet and the outlet of the inspection shaft. The steeper the slope, the better is the self-cleaning effect (but a vertical position isn't recommended). A minimum constant slope of 2% in front of the valve is recommended for the proper functioning of a Stop Silent® SL13 valve in sewage water.
Installation Inflow
Before installation, completely loosen the clamping mechanism and moisten the valve surface with water. (Possibly soap water)
Insert the valve until the sealing lip fits completely inside the pipe. When inserted correctly, the valve should sit within the pipe as shown in picture (c).
Tighten the screw in direction of the arrow with the original tool. To guarantee optimal functioning, the bolt has to be centred in the upper part of the pipe.
Installation Outflow
Before installation, completely loosen the clamping mechanism and moisten the valve surface with water. (Possibly soap water)
Push the valve into the pipe until at least the expander clamp is completely in the pipe.
Tighten the screw in direction of the arrow with the original tool. To guarantee optimal functioning, the bolt has to be centred in the upper part of the pipe.
Functional check and maintenance
Used with sewage water:
Newly installed valves have to be checked for function and sedimentation after 4-6 weeks
The valve should be checked twice a year.
Open the cover of the inspection shaft and descend. Flush the toilet several times while flushing down toilet paper. Observe whether flushed water including paper passes the valve. Check the membrane for brittelness or flexibility. If necessary, clean the membrane with clean water.
Used with rainwater:
The procedure is the same as with sewage water.
The valve should be checked once a year.
