From Log Transport to Our Own Valve Technology
Founded in 1942 by Albert Schüle, the company began with a cableway system that enabled the safe and economical transport of timber in mountainous regions despite difficult terrain. Even back then, the core philosophy was clear: solving existing challenges with well-thought-out technology.
Albert Schüle was originally a plumbing technician and dealt in check valves. The products available at the time did not meet his standards for safety and durability—so he developed his own valves. This led to the creation of the Stop Silent® product family. The patented AS-type cone check valve set new standards and continues to be refined to this day—adapted to current requirements for drinking water hygiene, operational safety, and energy efficiency.
Innovation in Backflow Prevention
Later, Lasso recognized that the proven diaphragm principle could also be effective in the wastewater sector. Together with the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts, Daniel Rohrer developed a new solution: the Stop Silent® SL13 was introduced in 2013. The backflow flap eliminates many of the weaknesses of conventional systems, provides reliable protection against backflow, reduces sewer odors and radon ingress, and prevents the entry of small animals. Easy installation, low-maintenance operation, and high operational reliability make it the preferred solution for plumbers, planners, and municipalities.

Our history
Why does a company with a name referring to rope (lasso) sell check valves?
Lasso Technik AG was founded by Albert Schüle in Switzerland in 1942. The main reason for this was the shortage of wood during the Second World War and the realization that there were large quantities of wood in the mountains in impassable terrain. Lasso Technik AG developed its ropeway system as a solution to this problem.
Development of the AS cone valve
As Mr. Schüle was originally a plumbing engineer and had previously dealt in backflow preventers and non-return valves, he took this trade into his new company as a second mainstay. As valve technology was not yet very advanced at that time, Lasso Technik AG began to develop its own valves for industry and private households. This gave rise to the Stop Silent® product range.
After several new developments and optimizations of the Stop Silent®check valve, Lasso Technik AG recognized the potential of its product in the wastewater sector. In collaboration with the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts, it then developed an innovative product for backflow protection.
Creation of Stop Silent SL13

It also solves additional problems, such as the unpleasant smell from the sewer system in the house or the ingress of amphibians into pipes. Since 2013, many customers and installation companies have sworn by the SL13 as a reliable solution against backwater or odor nuisance.
