Technical features of the backflow preventer
The flange housing enables quick and easy installation between pipe sections. The modular design means that existing systems can be easily integrated or replaced if necessary without dismantling the entire piping system. Another important advantage is the straight flow path of the valve, which enables a flow path with low turbulence. Flanged valves require less space compared to other valve types, making them ideal for use in confined spaces or compact systems.
The ASSF is the traffic controller of the valve world. It allows flow in one direction only and reliably prevents the medium from flowing back.
The cone also acts as a coarse filter and prevents dirt particles and impurities from entering the pump, ensuring effective protection for the systems.
The entire component is made of stainless steel 1.4404 as standard and is equipped with a test opening. Other dimensions can be manufactured on customer request, and the use of higher-tempered stainless steels is also possible. In addition, the stainless steel can be provided with a Halar coating on request to make the component more resistant to particularly aggressive media.

With the improved cone generation introduced in 2024, the AS valves have a cross-section that is up to 20% larger thanks to the new hole pattern. As a result, the new generation can further reduce the pressure loss.
Thanks to the cone shape in combination with the membrane, lightly contaminated, sandy as well as pasty and sticky media such as cocoa, molasses or sugar solutions can be processed. The perforation of the cone acts as a coarse filter and protects downstream systems, such as pumps and plants, with minimal space requirements.
